Dr. Winnie Lee was born and raised in California to a father who is a dentist. She was raised in a dental office as her parents ran a dental business in San Jose, California. Her baby play-pen was situated in the office and to this day, long-time patients still remember her singing at the office as her dad treated patients and mom coordinated treatment. At the age of 11, she shadowed her dad and met several long-time patients that remember her dad relieving severe dental pain through root canal therapy. She was awed that root canal therapy can save teeth and preserve dental function. At the age of 12, she went with mom to watch Dr. Stanley Lee perform sinus augmentation surgery and implant placement at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry.
It was also during this time that Dr. Winnie was undergoing orthodontic treatment. Her dad taught her that dentistry is an art and science. This unique combination of being able to create a better smile and relieve pain through careful examination and study made it imperative for her to pursue a career in dentistry. She saw the need for implant dentistry in preserving people’s dental form, function, phonetics and esthetics.
At Leland High School, Dr. Winnie was elected Class President two straight years, got straight A’s and was named Santa Clara County’s Young Woman of the Year – 2nd alternate.
Dr. Winnie Lee attended University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and graduated at the age of 23. She then immediately trained with the leading clinicians in her field: the late Dr. Norman Cranin, the late Carl E. Misch, Dr. Brian LeSage and worked alongside her dad as her mentor. For almost twenty years, she has been surrounded by a team of talented and loyal support staff to carry out her vision of ultimate patient satisfaction and to deliver outstanding surgical results in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
Being able to snorkel, swim and fish year-round really attracted Dr. Winnie Lee to the Florida Keys.
The Florida Keys community lacked choices when it came to needing a root canal or dental implant procedure. Folks in the community were being told to drive very far distances for predictable treatment. Having Diplomate designations in both dental implant societies and having the highest credential in root canals attainable to her, Dr. Winnie Lee is being regarded by her dental peers in the lower Keys as the clinician to consult with.
